Strong oxidizing salt used in pulp bleaching and herbicide production.

Sodium chlorate is an inorganic salt with strong oxidizing properties. It is the main raw material for bleaching pulp with chlorine dioxide, and is used in the production of defoliants/herbicides in agriculture and in uranium processing. When mixed with combustible materials it carries a risk of fire and explosion.
