Food-grade calcium chloride used as a food additive (E509), moisture-retaining agent and coagulant.

Calcium chloride is the chloride salt of calcium: a hygroscopic white solid that is very soluble in water. The food grade is used as a coagulant in cheese making, as a firming agent for pickles and canned foods and as a mineral fortifier in beverages.
