Low bulk density granular phosphate salt used as a water softener (sequestrant) in detergent formulations.
Sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP) is a white, hygroscopic inorganic salt. The low-density granular form is preferred in detergent powder granulation for better flow and less dust formation; it is used to remove water hardness by binding calcium/magnesium ions (sequestrant).
