Nonionic emulsifier obtained by ethoxylating sorbitan, used in food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical products (Polysorbate 20).
Polysorbate 20 is a nonionic surfactant (UVCB mixture) obtained by ethoxylating sorbitan monolaurate with ethylene oxide (20 moles). It is a clear, yellow-greenish viscous liquid. It is used in food as additive E432, and in cosmetic and pharmaceutical formulations as an emulsifier and solubilizer.
