Synthetic orange-yellow azo dye used in foods, beverages and pharmaceuticals (E110).
Sunset Yellow FCF is a synthetic food dye of the azo group. It is used to impart an orange-yellow color in beverages, confectionery, sauces and some pharmaceutical/cosmetic products. It is approved in the EU under the code E110. Because it is one of the colorants associated with hyperactivity in children, in some countries the labels of foods containing this dye must carry a warning.
