Flammable monomer used in the production of polyvinyl acetate, PVA and copolymers.
Vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) is a flammable liquid monomer produced from acetic acid and ethylene. It is used mainly in the production of polyvinyl acetate (adhesives, paint binders), polyvinyl alcohol and various copolymers (EVA etc.). It is sold in stabilized form in order to prevent polymerization.
