Corrosive and flammable organic acid widely used as a chemical intermediate and solvent.
Acetic acid (CH3COOH) is a colorless, corrosive organic acid with a pungent odor. The 100% (glacial) form can solidify at temperatures of 16.6 °C and below. It is used in chemical intermediate synthesis (acetate esters, vinyl acetate monomer, acetic anhydride) and in the textile, dye and food industries (diluted).
