An unsaturated organic anhydride that is a key intermediate in unsaturated polyester resin and alkyd resin production.
Maleic anhydride is an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid anhydride with a white crystalline/flake appearance, produced by the catalytic oxidation of benzene or n-butane. It is used as a basic raw material in the production of unsaturated polyester resins, alkyd resins, copolymers and agrochemicals.
