Polyethylene glycol used as a solid carrier in pharmaceutical, cosmetic and industrial formulations.

Polyethylene glycol (PEG) 4000 is a polymer mixture in solid, flake/powder form at room temperature. It is used as a tablet coating and ointment base in pharmaceuticals, as a solid carrier in cosmetic formulations, as a ceramic/metal casting binder and as a textile auxiliary. It generally has low toxicity and is not classified under GHS.
