Acetic acid salt used as a buffering/neutralizing agent in the textile, leather and food sectors.

Sodium acetate is the sodium salt of acetic acid. The solid commercial product is generally sold in the trihydrate form containing three molecules of water of crystallization. It is used as a buffering agent and acid neutralizer in textile dyeing. It is also used in leather tanning and in concrete admixtures. In the food industry it is used as a preservative and acidity regulator (E262).
