Silicate salt used as an alkali source in industrial cleaning and metal surface treatment.
Sodium metasilicate pentahydrate is an alkaline silicate salt with high solubility in water. It is used in industrial and institutional cleaning products, as a degreaser in metal surface treatment, in textile pretreatment and as a detergent builder. It is of Chinese and Iranian origin.
