Sodium Carbonate (Soda Ash)
CAS 497-19-8Powder
- Irritant
Also known as: Disodium carbonate

Dense (heavy) sodium carbonate used mainly in glass production and in applications requiring high bulk density.
Dense soda ash (heavy soda) is anhydrous sodium carbonate that, unlike light soda ash, has been brought to a higher bulk density by enlarging its particle size; its chemical identity is the same as that of light soda ash. Dense soda ash is preferred in glass production because dust loss is low and dosing is easier; it is also used in the detergent and chemical industries.
