Soda (soda ash) is anhydrous sodium carbonate produced from trona ore or by the Solvay process. It is used as a melting aid in glass production, as a water softener/alkali source in detergent formulations, as a pH regulator in water treatment and as a raw material in many reactions in the chemical industry. It is offered in Bosnian, Russian and Turkish origins.
