Inorganic polyphosphate salt used for water softening and as a dispersant and sequestrant.

Sodium hexametaphosphate is a glassy mixture of linear sodium polyphosphates. It is used as a scale inhibitor and sequestrant in water treatment, as a humectant/emulsifier in the food industry and as a dispersant in detergents.
