Anionic surfactant used in shampoos, liquid soaps and detergents as a cleansing and foaming agent.
Sodium lauryl ether sulfate (SLES, sodium laureth sulfate) is an anionic surfactant obtained by ethoxylating C12-14 fatty alcohol of coconut or palm origin and then sulfating it. It is a paste-like aqueous product containing 70% active matter and is used as a cleansing, foaming and emulsifying agent in shampoo, shower gel, liquid soap, dishwashing and laundry detergent formulations.
