Strong oxidizing salt used as a corrosion inhibitor and surface treatment agent.
Sodium nitrite (NaNO2) is a hygroscopic inorganic salt with a white to slightly yellow crystalline structure. It behaves as a strong oxidizer and is used in corrosion inhibitor formulations, in metal surface treatment, in the synthesis of chemical intermediates and as a food additive (E250).
