Self-emulsifying glycerol monostearate-based emulsifier used in creams and lotions.

GMS-SE is the commercial form of glycerol monostearate (a mono/di/triglyceride mixture) that is supported with a small proportion of an ionic co-emulsifier (soap-based, for example) so that it can form an emulsion in water on its own. It is used as the main emulsifier in cosmetic cream and lotion formulations.
