A strong oxidizing solution used in bleaching, disinfection and oxidation processes.
Hydrogen peroxide is an oxidizing compound that decomposes into water and oxygen under the effect of heat, light and metal ions. It is commercially sold as an aqueous solution. It is used in textile and paper bleaching, in water/wastewater disinfection, as an oxidizer in chemical syntheses and in some cleaning products. Depending on its concentration, it is corrosive/irritant and can damage the skin and eyes.
