Sorbitol-derived nonionic emulsifier used in food, cosmetic and industrial emulsions.
Sorbitan monolaurate is a nonionic surfactant obtained from the partial esterification of sorbitol with lauric acid. It is used in food as additive E493, and in cosmetics and industrial emulsions as an emulsifier, dispersant and stabilizer.
